I'm just a child who walked along the way In the dark and vile night my youth just slipped away Shadow called depression, a dark and dingy gray Attacked by cultures expectations I fight for life to stay I saw a life force glowing bright I watched it wash away No place to find refuge, a spark of brighter day's No longer do I hold them, I know not where they stray Listening to the verdict who's web I now shall weave Till dusk shall be departed and life no longer free I am just a child who walked along the way If you see my footsteps walk over where they lay Find your path to walk in, and hope that you can stay In empty space I linger I cling to have reprieve I am just a child who walked. vlh. 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If with pen in hand I have made you think I've not wasted one drop of ink Me two DE.. |

The depth in this one is very good. Where you say "cultures expectations" had me thinking of vultures circling. Good imagery. I also see a person running from the law, knowing he/she will be caught. Although dark, it has been well done. ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. KRJ |

Tori, you've stirred my own feelings of fear. Wonderful piece of art! ------------------ ~one voice~ *You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.* |
