The abominable snowman Ain't just no man He's a real cool guy. It's just that Yeti Ain't quite ready To give mankind a try. There, in Loch Ness, I must confess No monster lies within. That's just a myth, It was Kate Smith With very scaly skin. No Robin Hood Lurked in Sherwood To fight for poor men's rights. It was a fairy, Name of Larry Who liked to wear green tights. Brave Camelot Was golden? - NOT! It was a horrid sight. Fair Gueneviere Did just sleep here But once - upon a knight. Our legends are Untrue, by far But they deserve to stand In history For all to see Next to......The Honest Man. |

This tale was often told to me while sitting on my father's knee A poet fair would roam the land always there to lend a hand Reaching out to others in need a poet, yea, a knight in deed. One night in light of full moon's glow the poet fair decided to go Seeking succor for his soul he needed rest to make it whole His name is now a legend here no longer, his voice do we hear A stately figure, almost a ghost no longer able to submit a post. Even mythical poets fair sometimes need a breath of air. But in the silence of a starry night I sometimes hear that noble Knight whispers in meter with oft a rhyme a knight, a poet, for all time. How true... How true! Great ending. Have you ever heard Stan Ridgeways' (one time lead singer for Wall of Voodoo)song entitled "The Last Honest Man?" It echos your sentiment. Have a great day! P.S. You were right about the bike. How about the second question? |
