Here I lay Silently In the arms of my lover Across the room I hear you cough I want to flee to you Hesistation overcomes me Friend Long lost friend Memories of things from long ago flood my mind Holding hands, kissing, teasing, reading together Now here I am with a new love There you are with nothing Still I have to leave you behind Friend Long lost friend It's as if the Gods made you for me How can I be so cruel? Tonight I shall hear you wheeze again I wish I could help you Just one more time to tell you I Love You You are sick Should I leave my lovers side Like a bandit in the night I steal away Friend Long lost friend Your heart luminates brighter than any I have ever known What should I do? Where should I go? Silent the night Buzzings and chirpings Leaves soughing Moon caressed wind Bronchial dilations Complications Eviscerations Shatter silent night Hear I mind cry Decision's indecision Comfort ex-lover/friend Or husband/lover/friend Answer know I fully Sense you in my mind Coming nae closer My lungs grind Sporadic silent night Gunshot coughs shatter We both eyes open Thinking of other You feel my anguish I know your pain But in separate rooms We must remain Long lost ex-lover friend If ever you run I'll be here To greet my friend Alicat |

Wow! Glad I read this one! Very powerful! And after Alicat's reply, I felt as though I'd intruded on your privacy. Both were well written with a message that I can relate to! Have you then answered the question: Can ex-lovers be friends? (I think so!)  |

Wow... I hope that that answer is the same for me and mine...but I just don't know anymore... It was, no...they were beautiful poems... thank you for sharing Ladycat, (and Alicat) your work is great. Don't despair if not alot of people stop by...my dad always said that it's not the quantity but the quality...But I know how you feel... sometimes the poems that you post are so important and gorgeous to your eyes and you think that no one liked it because you did'nt get replies...Don't feel that way because know it or not you do have faithful readers. Well, I really appreciate your poetry and I hope that you won't stop writing... luv ya! Mia |
