Bleeding Out Poetry I gaze down upon the paper before me, the ink that stains it, still dark and wet... like blood pouring from an open wound. I try to ebb the flow of words, thoughts, emotions; all revealing more of me than I choose to expose. Each line, syllable, letter reopens the gash. You cut out my heart with the precision of a surgeons scalpel. Your words, much sharper than my own, leaving me with no choice but to bleed out my thoughts. This flood of words, this hemorrhage of emotions, puddles in a blur before my eyes. More wetness now, upon my skin, and a single tear drops to blend with the ink. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

I like the poem and the quote at the end- how true... how very true. A nice piece that I can somewhat relate too- I've often felt as though my poetry was wiser than me- letting the truth out before I knew it. Bravo on a job well done. -Christina |

Christina, Thank you for your reply. I sometimes think that if I didn't write, I wouldn't understand myself at all. Make any sense? My poetry is a way for me to clarify events in my life, to help me deal with things I might not be able to deal with otherwise. |

Hey Hoot! Nice piece. Funny you mentioned how writing helps you understand and deal with things... I think it does this for all of us, and the readers realization that others experience similar problems/joys/sorrow as he/she is what makes reading almost as good as writing. Even the Poetic Wheelbarrow psychobabble often results from frustration/happiness... PW ------------------ Poetic Wheelbarrow http://sites.netscape.net/poetwheel |

Great imagery. Very strong emotionally and the title befits your work. I bow to you and yours. P.S. Thanks for looking in on mine. |
