Roses The petals on my roses Now have withered and died Just like the tears that streamed When I finally cried I nursed those flowers so long But I knew they’d never last Just as I nursed my wounds You left when you passed How deeply I loved those roses But deeper still I loved you The roses rich and red But me I was feeling blue We once laughed so happily As we tended those roses every day Why’d you have to end it all? Why did you go away? I suppose I’ll plant new flowers But you I will never replace And I will put a rose upon your grave Wiping tears from my face. ------------------ Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

I'm glad you liked this...I wrote it when I was 15...quite some time ago (don't ask how long...we'll leave it as it is...) This was written for my aunt when she passed away, and I found it tonite, and decided I would post it. ------------------ Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

This is very sad...but I enjoyed it. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
