Shadow out of darkness Fluid is the movement Silent steps of passage Quick is the moment A crimson line is drawn Rose petals upon the floor Life gives up its essence The shadow stalks once more With economy of deed Death cliams Her next prize Steel delivers the message Life slips from shocked eyes In time She comes to us all Cloaked in dark secret The message always the same Only question is - How will you greet it? |

Alllways an intriguing question.....how will we face, or greet, Death. I don't think we'll know until the time comes....if we see it coming. |

Good show! Conjures up a lot of imagery. You've communicated your ideas well here. Lets hope it greets us with less mystique though... ------------------ Poetic Wheelbarrow |

Personally, I think Death is just an average Joe / Joan taking care of business wherever business takes him / her. This piece probably should have been titled "Assassin," but from the perspective of the one who wrote it (my character in a roll-playing game) the Angle of Death had descended. Yes Emmy, it was meant to give shivers. I'm glad I succeeded. Thank you. Gentlemen, thank you for gracing my work with your responses. I hope we can all meet our respective ends with a smile on our faces and with the anticipation of a new journey. |
