Rain drops like tears
fall down on my face
Tried to run from my fears
but I've lost the race

So cold and dark outside
like the feeling in my heart
I've cried and I've cried
since we've been apart

I stand in the rain
and let it wash over me
Please take away this pain
oh why must this be

The rain comes harder and harder
it will never be through
I should have been smarter
than to fall in love with you

The wind is getting stronger
can it blow away this ache
If you stay away any longer
surely my heart will break

The rain is getting stronger
it pounds on my face
Tell me how much longer
will I be stuck in this place...

ah, standing in the rain...i love doing that.
Very nice poem - it has a nice feel to it. I like the rain, so I'm biased

if only the pounding of the rain could wash away at least some of our sorrows...sigh--very touching...you reminded of something i try hard not to forget...
