Life is a circle - a beginning - an end

At one, she sat on her potty chair
At five, her life was little girl toys
At ten, she thought she knew too much
At fourteen, she discovered boys.

At twenty, she was lost in sin
At thirty, creating a new life
At forty, work became her aim
At fifty, no longer a wife

At sixty, she began to fade
At seventy, she had thinning hair
At eighty, she had little time left
And sat in the corner on her potty chair.

And it doesn't take long to go full circle...

The sad truth about life is stated very well in this poem. I'm very impressed.

Another hit Ms. PdV
But this one moved too fast for me
And still you told it beautifully

Can she go back and start at 3 (?)

Nan - yesterday I was 5....today I'm not but I act like it sometimes...

sea_of_okc - I'll send you the form you have to fill out to party with me..there's a disclaimer and a weapons clause!

invertigo 19 - I would like to think we could die as we are born..with someone holding us and rocking us...

Balladeer - some of us go to pot more than others....that's must be why I get up 4 times a night (don't even say it!)

Fred -
when do you have the time,
to come up with all this rhyme?
You write such lovely poetry,
are you two or are you three?

Wolfgang - could you send me a video?

Poet deVine, I'm in the cellar reading today, and came upon this poem that I felt belonged in the living room, for all the happy guests to see.

I absolutely love this piece and the originality of the idea you had....! What can I possibly say to let you know just how meaningful this piece is ! You are an unbelievable writer, and your ideas are worthy of some sort of award !! Good Lawrd, keep 'em coming !

This was brilliant. It captured one of life's many ironies with style ... but left it just vulgar enough (with the "potty chair") to keep to the "this is real life and real life sucks" theme.

Ugh ... that was an awfully constructed comment ... I hope you understand what I meant better than I managed to write it.

God, Ms. De, you're amazing. Like Peter though, I do not want to grow up--a potty chair indeed.
