Clearly - much can be omitted at the option of the member - but some things a member might want to clue others to - sex, and approximate age - there is no place for. - Without a picture and an androgenous 'handle' we are often in doubt oabout the sex of our responder - or the one we're responding to. Sometimes we are in doubt about the age - we could be talking to a teen - or a senior citizen. From my POV - these would be nice additions to profile |

yes to both of you -- Elizabeth - you could leave age blank Christopher - I said that However - I responded to a "Martini" (I think I spelled that right) whose profile showed no picture - I had no clue whether it was male or female, if a profile 'sex' line were included he/she could continue to remain androgenous or let us know. With some others I could tell the sex - (as I did with you two) but I wondered if I was replying to a very young person or one of my peers - that is all I'm suggesting < !signature--> [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 08-27-2000).] |

hmmm...that is a good point I think, because I have wondered as well about the age of some poets... I think that as long as its optional, it shouldn't be a problem if people disclose it... of course, you will have the ones that don' tell the truth, but...can't do anything about that In short, I think this is an excellent suggestion, Wil! |

Mike - perhaps a special catagory for Hermaphrodites, transvestites and transsexuals ? -- NAW! (Thanks ~S~ I needed that) Sharon - personally - I'd have an aversion to any Hermaphrodite with a masculine name ~G~ |

Hear ya... that was mostly fer ms. Liz thar'!  For me, it wouldn't matter much. Most people don't believe me when I tell them how old I am anyway... doesn't jive with the pic... |
