Somewhere in the vast wasteland

Just an idea I have or rather a concept.  I didn't know what other forum to post this in but I thought that is was the best.  I have seen the concept before in this family of poets but not by any name.  The concept is that one poet could challenge another poet to a poetry duel.  Duel may be too strong of a word.  What a duel would intail would be first a poet writing a piece of poetry and challenging another poet to write a spin-off poem or even a sequel poem to the original.  I have seen a couple of them posted in Open and really enjoy reading them and also enjoy participating in them.  The poet's duel purpose would be to inspire poets of the same or different writing styles to write/hone their poetic skills.  It is not for the purpose of seeing or comparing who is the better poet.  I don't know if it would work though.  Maybe I should just continue to hope for more of this kind of writing but I would like to see more of it.  Maybe it should be called Poet's Challenge?  The idea would be so that people could write poetic stories much like the game in school where people each write a line or a paragraph using what has already been written to form a rather unique story line.  Oh well.  Maybe this would be better posted in Feelings but I think it is more of an idea than a feeling.  Or maybe even Q & A or Anouncements and Links.  Anyway if it needs to be moved, please do so.  Thanx.

PS  I hope this all made sense.

Check out the Community Poem forum.... the intention is the same I think, unless I've misunderstood you!

You understood me correctly.    For some odd reason I hadn't noticed that forum before.    Thank you for pointing me in that direction.
