I looked back And dry rot ate the steps of wood In all the places I had stood. And brambles pad the path and yard Abandon hangs a sad facade. Uncaring rode the moon on high Uncertain seemed the wind to cry And the silent trees snaked shade Like painted Halloween brocade. Haphazard hung the cobweb frills With hollow eyes and empty sills And only sorrow gorged my glean On mockery that filled the scene. Dissolved in sipping simple truth Past relics of my naive youth And queasy load my ducts with tears And heavy grew the weight of years. What is, has been, cannot again No matter the Zen or amen. |

Very good, Seymour. Very vivid. Very familiar scene. As always, it's been a pleasure. ------------------ Denise |

Like Nan said you are awesome, but perhaps that word was too weak? Amazing etc....I loved it.. ------------------ Words that enlighten the soul are more precious than jewels. ~Isis~ |
