The Bear The Sailor and Love or Learning to love This is one of my early attempts at this style of poetry; the story is about a man and a woman who are lovers. The women believes she understands why her man is so distraught and in her own way she tries to help. But as you will read all is not as she assumes. When the bear his temper frailed and reason lost Stumbled through his day appearing blind to all around, You just hugged him; you always loved that bear And with a look you made him smile But never too much to tease him. When the sailor was lost and alone in his sea And the waves they swelled a hundred high You put aside your worries to search and sail beside For with your love and a caring hand they calmed And a whisper of words you saved him Are bears able to love, do sailors talk to the sea For the bear; the anguish not knowing how to And the sailor; searching for words to The bear, he’s learned to love And the sailor: ... I LOVE YOU... U K Hero (and not a rhyme in sight) [This message has been edited by U K Hero (edited 09-14-99).] |
