Now that I have lost my wife
and have no income in my life,
as all my hard-worked plans have failed
as tracks and trains of thoughts de-railed,
with dearest friends long-gone their way
as no-one talks to me all day,
yet,I remember feelings bright
with youthful hope and warm delight
that now become sweet torturings
as when the widowed warbler sings
in barren tree which once was filled
with living promises now stilled.
I wonder at this mystery
this feathered soul so close to me
who once considered- being-good
as sleeping nestings sheltered would,
until that day when all was lost,
when from one gusty wind was tossed
all hope,his love,his children-gone
now him,alone,to face this dawn
and still he sings, with no-one there,
melodious tributes to despair.
Oh little one, your cries ring true.
They tell the tales of me and you.

Nicely written Paul. By the way, I love your initials

Not only is every syllable perfect, the tone of the poem and the object is excellent.
