In anguish, where hope hath long departed, and where curses follow forevermore my tears fall deep and bitter upon the soil, the wind blows past my face in a lonely world where my heart is always sad; I live a dying life within each day as my love of the stars dies. Once did the stars seem like heaven, as my fingers so long ago pointed at galaxies, my face smiled with love for all and the lightning bugs danced in my yard, yet that was so, so long ago; with surpassing valour I loved everyone and enchanted music trembled within, and I knew no night, all was day, as I felt love for God; o' aching memories, how you hurt, like fire you consume me and to ashes I fall, never to know love again, as the words 'I love you' are long forgotten, forever buried in the sands of time. |

Very sad but in turn beautifully written ------------------ "This world is not conclusion. A sequel stands beyond, Invisable as music, But positive as sound." ~Emily Dickinson |

Happy, sad... I have an idea for the "philosophy" section.. *grin* I find myself more talented when it comes to sad poetry, so it tends to be more frequent for me to write that type. Not excluding that it sounds more musical. It means a bunch that you think I'm talented, wlksfarwmn ... ------------------ *AH- Artur Hawkwing* Long ago in the seas of time, I heard the Aiel say something I now say to you. May you always find water and shade. |

Absolutely loved the line "as my fingers so long ago pointed at galaxies"-that is truly poetic. I share the dissillusionment of which you write. The stars still beyond reach and seemingly now-hopelessly.Perhaps though,we are nearer them now than ever before-closer,that is,to end of a cyclical journey. There may be nothing sadder than a hopeless romantic-except ,of course, for a hopeful one. Paul |

Very well written! "forever in the sands of time." Time certainly has a way of "dusting" things don't it? |

Ah, your return is much welcomed Artur...wow, this is beautiful. A melancholy and deeply moving piece, I think. Exellent! ------------------ *Krista Knutson* Mockery is a form of ignorance; silence, a form of wisdom. -- Daniel L. Miller |

This was truly beautiful poetry. I don't say that about many works either. It has a very real and calm flow to it, as if you're being brought along. Thank you for posting it. ------------------ Opinions are like bellybuttons: eveybody's got 'em and they're good for nothing. |

I am not sure what to say to you all but I appreciate the quantity and quality of responses I got, more than you can dare believe !!!!! Lupien- This is a hopeless romantic, and thank you. In this poem, I was trying to write about how I could love anything at one time, even the stars ... it was a hopeful romantic, ironicially. Changing from a hopeful romantic to a hopeless romantic might be harder than either alone. This is pure bliss. For dsynder: I think that what truly comes from the heart can come out absolutely poetic! For Severn: I like your smiles very much. Thank you, friend. One more, then I'm off.. Beowulf: Hearing all that about how this poem is truly beautiful tempts me to write another poem for all of u... like the quote btw....... I appreciate the comments... and the welcomes. |
