Lucy I watch her there, Sprawled out beneath the sun, A paws twitch from a running dream, My graceful feline streamlined, For beauty's sake alone. A whisker and face to awaken me, A familiar face of many years, Faithful as ever, A need she feels, Out of unconditional love, And of course, A hearty meal. A nightmare for others, That small scurrying rodent. A playful game, Between gladiator and saint, 'Til death he must part. Years of comfort you once gave, Years glued solid to my heart, Please remember me when I arrive, At that place of everlasting peace. Thank you, Lucy. |

John this was a terrific tribute to an old friend. I hope she passed peacefully. |

Beautifully written John. You have a way with words. ------------------ "This world is not conclusion. A sequel stands beyond, Invisable as music, But positive as sound." ~Emily Dickinson |

Thank you both for your kind words. Much appreciated. I thought this one might have been a little too sentimental for a cat, but what can I say, I'm a cat lover through and through. Thanks again. Tyson |
