It's 5 a.m. and here I am out standing in the rain. It makes me shutter at the news of mister hurricane. There's food to get and candles and those batteries, of course And other little odds and ends to help survive the force. The boat I'll fill with water lest it turn into a plane. The hoses and the garbage cans, I must bring in - again. Drinking water must be filled to help me stay alive, Vienna sausages by the case will insure I survive. Seymour's right there down the road. Pepper's right near, too And I am sure that they are doing these same things I do. It's a fact of life known to Floridians, one and all, It's best to be prepared when Mother Nature comes to call. Fred Hobbs is watching from upstate. Caroline's out there, too. I wish them all the best and hope that they all make it through. It seems that Mother Nature never likes to skip a chance At showing little folks like us, our insignifigance. So it's off to batten hatches, time to tie possessions down And, when old Floyd has passed, we'll have to see what's still around. It's just an inconvenience....just a small calamity But I've survived Toerag and Suthern - how much worse can this one be? |

Oh Balladeer, still such a sense of humor! I see it on the news, and hope all the best for you guys! We are but specks up against a hurricane. You all will be in my prayers, may God keep each one of you safe!!!!!! |

If you should be picked up and carried 'cross the coast. Remember you are welcome at my House, I'll be the host. Houston is my city and we get plenty of sun. Just remember if your coming don't forget to bring your gun.  Be safe sweet Balladeer, cause now that I picked on Toe, I don't wanna have to face him alone..hehe |

Yeah, I'm with you 'deer ! I saw it on the news too, and immediately wondered if you were still on the map!!?? I'm thinking of you - HANG ON and come back to us ASAP so we'll stop worrying about you! It's just a small breeze? You'll handle with ease But I want ya to know, You'll be in the prayers of old Toe.. WhtDove, Sunshine and Rainbow, thank you for your thoughts. DeVine one...not supposed to hit till Wednesday and maybe something good will happen by then. Lucie....thanks for the offer. Pistol or rifle, or both? Femme, thanks for the thoughts. Many times, these things are tougher on animals that people. DBeth, great poem! I'll tell him. Seymour, please understand if I don't say "drop over" for a few days! Toe...Thanks for the vitamin T offer but Halloween's getting close and I know you need your pumpkin. Don't worry, I'll be back. There are some vicious people here and I know ya need my protection . Suthern..I now see you for what you are...and I love every bit of it. Thank you for your concern. I will use all hot air at my disposal which, I agree, is considerable. |

Ah,dear Alison..correcting the teacher, are we? I see my subtlety and double entendre was lost on you. A shutter is a very important weapon in a hurricane. When I say "I shutter.." I am using a play on words...shutter/shudder. I accept your apology  |
