It's the same moon that you whisper goodnight to It's the same sun that kisses your skin in the morning both of our lives play out, under a marble sky living, dying, smiling, laughing, crying It's the same stars that you make a wish upon It's the same breeze that rustles through the trees yet I wonder, do you look up at the feathered clouds and dream about me now and then? It's the same ocean though opposite sides It's the same grains of sand under your feet carried by frothy fingers from my world to yours from regions unknown, to me, to you It's the same heart that's breaking for you, for me It's the same tears, the same words, the same ache when I let you go, out of duty or pride or fear when I walked away, and left you alone to stand there ‘neath the clouds with no silver lining on a deserted winter beach with no sea gull's call as your tears fell mingling with the rain falling to the sea to wash away carried to me on the waves of pain the foam of regret and the swells of memories (In my heart whispers of words, ones I can't bear to hear. The ones you said to me, just before I left. "Don't You Walk Away.") ------------------ Every man has in himself a continent of undiscovered character. Happy is he who acts Columbus to his own soul.......J. Stevens |

Well done Izzy. I like the imagery of the derserted beach, and the feelings the poem portrayed. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |
