My heart is trembling -
I cannot see
through tears that
just won't fall...
Inside I ache -
I want to scream
your name I
long to call...
Why can't I reach
into my soul -
and turn off
all the pain ?
Why am I scared
to trust, believe -
that you won't
be the same ?
When I was young
I trusted life -
I was so naive...
I'd give my heart
to anyone -
"true love"
I did believe.
I stand here as
a woman scorned
& feel just like
a fool.....
How can life
live with itself -
when it is so
damned cruel ?
I try to step up
on my faith -
to just reach
one small star...
But everytime
I'm on that step
of chance -
I don't get far.
As soon as I begin
to feel like
maybe there is light -
Life jerks that rug
from under me -
I am alone tonight.....

Speaking of jerks, I'm here, Femme!! If we lay down on that rug, it'll make it harder for Life to jerk it away!

All seriousness aside, this is a very good poem. Where you been? We've missed you.

I feel my poetic inspiration returning....should be back to my 'ol nasty self by later on tonight...(sigh) You know, being the sex-starved siren that I am, I have to get some sleep every now & again to refuel !! LOL I've missed you too....how's the sheep? How are ewe? *** blowing kisses & grinning devilishly !

Sheep are fine. I'm having lamb chops as we speak. You are a real piece of work! Welcome back.

'Deer, aren't lamb chops the "thighs" of a lamb? I think maybe I should let you go now...for I feel as if I have called you at a "bad time?" Sorry to have interrupted.......(giggling sheepishly ) No pun intended ! ROFLMAO

For you to respond like that ST,now that is truly an honorable response, and I thank you ! ***curtises I thank each & every one of you for sharing in my pain yesterday...not very often does this femme feel pain, but when she do - she really do !! And fortunately, I had all of you to come to with it, and thankfully I feel better after sharing...sometimes you just need a good cry on a friendly shoulder...***blowing kisses to everyone !!

Dearest femme:

Don't worry every thing is going to be
ok. I know some one personally that has gone
through the same thing, and more the once!
You would never guess how you are admired, and
cared for. please just believe me its' gonna
be ok.

Haven't read much of your poetry, miss ff, but this one is quite good so I will be looking for more.

I saw something about some wild sensual party in dc in the other forum, though. Don't believe I had the pleasure of seeing you here, though. You have one heck of an imagination!

The weather was dry, btw... not a drop of rain.... beautiful crystal clear starry nights, several games of Scrabble, a run-in with Security, a bigger run-in with a wall of people, and several thousand trips on the airport shuttle (thanks to the NUT named des) plus hundreds of pictures. Can't wait to share them with you all.

No rain, though. Sorry.

Oh, and hey, about this particular poem above... yep, I'd agree, it's scary, that's for sure.... when you decide to open your heart to another especially after being hurt in the past. A slow drizzle on the roof, sitting inside by the fireplace, warmed by the shine of eyes and the soft touch of sincerity.... now that's MY idea of perfect weather... better than getting caught in the eye of a hurricane and landing in Oz.

if none of this made sense to you, sorry... hehehe... sometimes I write thoughts just for myself anyway.... hehehe

Crying leaves our eyes to see things in a new way - RainbowGirl....I don't ever want you to say that (the above comment) - your thoughts make perfect sense! This line you left with me, meant so much to me ! I sure hadn't thought of it that way.....thank you ! And thank you DP for all your words of appreciation & humor !!

Smile again for your poem was beautifullly written. It's unfair to be left with the hurt and the wanting, to be alone. I know the feeling well. Glad you are writing again, that always helps....::::..
