What's the point of treating me right
And loving me for years,
If at the end I live in fright
I can't control the tears?

I thought for years your love was true
You called it "from the heart",
I did whatever i could do
So that we wouldn't fall apart.

You said you were sorry
But what does that mean?
My heart didn't know no worries
Until you came to stay with me.

I know that you miss me,
And I won't lie...i do to.
Why can't you see that what you did
Broke my heart in two?

I wish you all goodness,
In everything you do.
Our love was such a bless,
But now I walk the path without you.

This rings so true. It begs the question, if love is so wonderful, then why does it hurt so much?

Nice work.

Good poem, but I can't help but wonder if it's me that you're walking alone from. Well done.

Very well done Miriam. Sometimes love hurts, it's true. Sometimes, it's just not meant to be! You have captured the pain very well indeed!

thank you all for reading and for the good comments.
Crimson...if you think this poem is for you then it's because in your heart you know what you've done to me. I personally believe that if your heart wouldn't feel so guilty, the thought of this poem being for you wouldn't even pass your mind. You decide if this poem is for you or not.
