Northern Queen O’ how I adore that mountain high It’s Streams of tears and bumbling daughters To join a partner in Rivers sly, It stands in grace so fair and tall Yet few can climb her they fear to fall But all do stand and non-do lie. For in that nation hailed Norway In books and tales of lands far away Lie stories old of want and tease, For it is told, that only one reign’s supreme And men and nature are on their knees To win the beguile of that Northern Queen. For no earthly mortal can win her favour When angels stole the heaven’s thunder To build a temptress with their spoils, And with this plunder spun and weaved A veil of mystery for man they leave My word, she is a notey challenge. Her peaks are lips to test men’s reach The body alluring to master and breach Its creation not solely by powers higher, I’m sure the devil a stitch did pry For some men win and some not try But all men lust to know her. For I alone with this lover lie And touch her tears of bumbling daughters To join together in rivers sly, I stand in gait so lean and tall And men they know me jealous all For God he built my mountain high.
