Vibrating thunder, cackling lightning,
Rainy days troubled my life
If it rained, there was sorrow
Beading tears in my weary eyes
The dribbling water,gray silhouette
Weighing down my desolate soul

But today,in this torrent rain
Before I slipped to impotent disdain,
My little girl gripped my awe
A miracle bolt stunned my woe

She stood by the window, smiling at rain
Prancing up her curly mane
Little head bent on pane
Fingers trailing drops of rain

With sparkling eyes and smile on lips
The cherub sang with swaying hips
"Come back another day
little Gingin wants to play"

She wasn't singing to dim the rain off
Rather, was humming to those zillion drops
The infant face was so absorbed
As if, she saw darts of red and gold..!

Until today, rain was gruesome
As if my soul was deaf and dumb
Those eyes of innocence, two years old,
Opened my vision to magnificence galore

Today's rain will surpass my memories
Rainy days will never give me worries..!

Beautifully written. Aaah to see again through the eyes of a child. I get amazing reminders too, from my four year old.

It takes a child to experience such pleasure in simple things. May we learn from this - I think it's beautiful.

moonmoon, I love this! isn't it amazing how our children make us see the world through new eyes? my kids have so much fun when it storms. their eyes light up when the "from-under" roars and the lightning strikes. they pretend they are "ghostbusting"!

"fingers trailing drops of rain"-my favorite line. i could see it!

Very nice to see things in that light isn't it?

This was very moving! Thank God, we are able to see through the eyes of a child, for as an adult our vision gets blurred! Thanks!

Terrific, moonmoon. To be able to see things through children's eyes and then write about it is very creative. No writer's block for you!

To have eyes that are young and a soul so clean that they only see the beauty this world has to offer. You did a wonderful job. My thanks for sharing this special moment in such a special way.

If this is your first experience of seeing thru your child's eyes... boyy do you have many more great moments to come..

Please watch for them. they go by very quickly.. watch in silence...and in awe.. and they alone will reveal to you, who you are inside.

Thank you kitty..

Redwriter, thanks for the insight..What you said is so true,we are all being reborn through the eyes of our children.. Sometimes I feel like 'we' are the infants & 'they' are the adults.! We could learn so much from them..!!
