This Love Hurts

This love hurts, a hurt so bitterly deep.
It's definitely very real, makes my heart weep.
This is not the love, I have every dreamed of,
When to you I said I do, I truly do love.

It started out so beautiful, like a marriage should,
But as the years went on, I tried everything I could.
I could see you slowly slipping, pulling away from me.
I asked what I could do, you said, just let it be.

We had such a special bond, and now we've lost that link.
You've taken and replaced my love, with alcoholic drink.
I no longer am the one, you desire to come home to.
I have now been replaced, and am now losing you.

I have not lost you physically, but mentally you're gone.
You've done your best to blame me, makning me the pawn.
For many years I accepted, and took on all the blame,
And covered your every move, tried to hide the shame.

I began to feel so empty, and the hurt deeply instilled.
In my heart you left a void, I so needed to be filled.
I tried to fill that void, tried to help ease my mind.
I've filled it with the children, jobs, anything I could find.

But that void could not be filled with anything that I tried.
It was your love that I needed, the love I'm now denied.
If only you could see, what your addiction now has done.
Not only to me, but to your family, each and everyone.

We love you very dearly, and that we always will,
But that voided love now, by hurt and anger has been filled.
I wish to myself, if only another woman he has found,
Then I could move on peacefully, not feeling I am bound.

It's hard to walk away and leave you on your own,
But know that God is there with you, you are not alone.
Ask Him for His help and His guidance to be strong,
To learn how to love yourself, and in that, there's nothing wrong.

God is always there, and He will forever always be,
Take a hold of His hand, let Him help set you free.
Ask Jesus for His help, to lift the burdens up for you,
For that is what he died for us, on the cross to do.

For if you place yourself in God, and learn of His love,
You'll know He is there for you, just pray to Him above.
I know with your trust in Him, there's nothing you can't do.
For He created you, His son, and loves you through and through.

Please do not hate me, for what I now must do,
But this love hurts so deeply, I must now leave you.
I love you very dearly, and that I always will, But this empty void I know, with love I now must fill.
