Feeding Souls After a very depressing day, is it my God given right to face an ever lingering evening, alone, into the night? Wanting the morning to come, with no real reason why, outside, my face is smiling, while deep inside I cry. Well now that, at one time, was the way it was but nevermore, and I believe it’s simply because there is a place here, where poetical people roam a spot where anyone’s soul may call it simply “home”. For here are poets of great cheer, and others who come rally ‘round the campfires of great folks, each giving of their tally, while some are great, and some are good, some certainly fair beneath their lines of prophetic voice, they show they really care. Sharing their lives, their loves, their loss, deep and quite sincere but feeling sorry for themselves, well, sometimes that’s not here… their words being more a lesson, one already quite well-learned, if each poet wore a stripe, you would know it was well-earned. There are those here who fought for their country and some of them here are fighting for their lives some have lost their friends so dear others have lost their wives. There are those that are the builders of hope sprinkling around goodness for all to cling to and cope others who can make music and sing to the soul yet others who simply make you feel wonderful and whole. And not everyone shares his gift in the same, sweet way some verses are free, while other verses look to prey upon your mind for awhile, give you thought, make you smile but deep within the words of this site, you know they’ve gone the mile. One young person exclaimed herself with wonder unto me “why, I’m only here, feeding my soul, with all of this poetry” so now I’ll fall gently within, and with my own poetic soul deal while you go on, and prepare again, a poem for another soul’s meal. May we all feed the multitudes that pass by. 7 September, 1999 ©KRJ ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Sunshine, what a wonderful story. You really captured our spirit. Excellent. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Marianne Williamson |

Thanks Sunshine, You have described what we all feel for these hallowed walls, and what those feelings do for us. It is kind of soul strengthening to be in this elite little group. Superb!......:::........ ------------------ Words that enlighten the soul are more precious than jewels. ~Isis~ |

This one is dedicated to Pepper...I should have put that in at the beginning...she was the catalyst. It is amazing how much all of the poets compliment each other. [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 09-08-99).] |

I simply LOVE the last stanza! You really wrapped it all up in that one! I've heard of Salt & Pepper, but you two must certainly be a neat combo! ![]() I can really relate to this because I actually try to comment more than posting my own....I find just as much satisfaction in speaking to others, being a bit naughty, sometimes funny! If I keep "feeding" in this forum, I'm going to have to join Weight Watchers for poets!! Great way of "capturing our spirit" as someone else said already! ![]() ------------------ I beckon you to come...I lure you with my tongue... - poet FemmeFatale |

This is the perfect way to describe it here! Thank you Sunshine. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |
