Year after year, they came And just passed right on by This little boy just thought they were lame The little boy didn't care of he would die Year after year they would go And just passed right on by Little boy didn't care to know Little boy just thought, if he could only fly Year after year they suddenly stopped And didn't pass him by Little boy cared for it so it wouldn't be dropped He now cared if he would die Year after year, it did not seem He saw nothing pass through In his eye was a glimmer, a gleam He had found what was true Year after year, the way he wanted it to go He wanted time to pass by and never end Until one day when it fell and went below He tried to care for it still but it would not stop to bend Year after year went one after another It would not stop, it would just pass He had nowhere to go, not even to his brother He cried and just became crass Year after year went by and flew through Little boy tried to pass ahead and stop it Little boy tried everything that he thought he should do But it just told him to drop it Year after year, they came And just passed right on by Little boy had no one else but hinself to blame He just wished that alone, he would not have to die Year after year came back And at times would just pass by Little boy would be happy when it would stay and have a snack But knew time would fly and he, time, he couldn't buy Year after year wanted to stay, so thought the little boy But would stay and then pass along again Little boy wouldn't mind as long as it wasn't coy And little boy would pass by as long as he kept a friend ------------------ ~A rose would not be worth the name without it's thorns~ |
