Alrighty, poets one and all. It's time for our next Community endeavor here at Passions. You know, we all come from a vartiety of areas, different backgrounds and we each see things in our own fascinating ways. Our members span the country and, indeed, the entire world. For this reason, I am dedicating our next community poem to...(may I hear some fanfare, please?): Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to create a poem (hopefully, in around 20 lines or less) about your home town..what's there, where it is, what's special about it, if anything and, most importantly, how do you see it in your own eyes. We don't want a travel brochure entry here. Paint a true picture through your own thoughts about the town or city in which you live. By the time we are finished, we should have a terrific map of many states, countries, philosophys, and ways of life....and we will learn a lot more about each other, too. For anyone not wishing to divulge their whereabouts in such detail, a poem about your state is also acceptable. For the newcomers who don't know how this works, simply go over to the Community forum and sign in by posting new topic with your name. Then, after your poem is finished, use the edit function to replace your name with the poem in the same box. DO NOT respond to this message! Just shake your poetic derrieres over to the Community Forum and sign in there. See you in your home town. |
