Never? Like a tree I held my ground stood steadfast through storms and wind ~never moved Like a wild animal I remained elusive allowing only a few to ever see “me” ~but never captured Like a drowning man far away from shore I saw myself left to perish at sea ~never rescued And like a well in a summer draught I remained lacking what I needed ~never filled But now, I have been ~moved by your words ~captured by your smile ~saved by your kindness ~and filled with your love ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
