I love my desk!
It has everything I need
Paper, pencils, books to read

My watch is lying by my glass
And hidden somewhere in this morass
Is a dictionary book or two
Just a minute, I’ll show them to you

Two that rhyme words for me
One that is synonymous you see
One that is for finding any word
Yes, I know, it’s so absurd!

I’ve got a can of Diet Coke
No, it’s empty, what a joke!
Should I leave my office nook
To get a Coke, in the fridge I’ll look

Fake ivy stands by my light
Eucalyptus leaves on the right
A box of clips, a jumble of change
A book of verse, perverse and strange

My zip drive here, my printer there
Scanner sits to the left of my chair
If I could live in only one place
I’d stay right here, in my writing space.

deVine,
You could take any subject matter and make a poem of it. Well done.
