~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Truth Hurts Sometimes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Early evening city lights no longer day, but not quite night I'm lost inside the misty window view Staring at familiar rain I ask myself again, again what did I do? Was I so wrong for you? I felt the space between us slowly widen as you found out that I could never be the one you dreamed forever would be perfect company Truth hurts sometimes This time its hurting me I see your face on every wall hear your voice in every call the imprint much too strong to fade away You're there on every passing bus to places they'll remember us I reach for you and wind back yesterday Witnessing your laughter lose its brightness and more and more excuses not to show I really should have known that I'd be sitting here alone Truth hurts sometimes This time its hurting me It wasn't over angry words I pleaded but could not be heard you'd made your mind to go I guess its time I faced the fact it's permanent, you won't be back you're never gonna show again My face is carved from ancient stone the letters pile like no-ones home the milk has turned again outside my door Time drags me through another hour another day, another shower I'm staring through the window mist once more You're gone but not forgotten, never will be the scars are far too deep to ever heal I thought for just one minute I was good enough for you Truth hurts sometimes This time its hurting me ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
i have been through this feeling just recently... and boy does it hurt.. but i'm strong.. i live my life with strength... and besides.. things happen for a reason... its all in the master plan... ------------------ "If to rectify your demeanor, You must imitate another, Your philosiphy on morality Is a burden on your mentality, Your actions based on popularity, Will never fulfill you internally, Cuz the world was not blessed with equality, But rather with fake geniality. --823-- |
You portrayed the hurt in this well. Sorry you're hurting. I don't think it was cause you weren't good enough though, I am sure you probably were. Maybe there is something better coming along. I hope so. (((HUGS))) |
Graham,you clearly express a sentiment which has got to be one of the hardest for us all to endure.There can be a million reasons though,why someone chooses to go away.Many of these reasons could have little to do with a personal rejection.Sometimes the details are hidden in the closed compartments of a human heart. I always try to remember that no-one can ever take away what really was. P.S.-You live in a land which has always been very close to my heart.Just returned from a 5 week visit there. Hearty welcome to Passions... The Anglophillic Paul ------------------ |
Very nice work... We all have one of these situations to go through, and dont worry, mine is posted as well :P lol In dark passions though, felt more at home there to me. Great work, nice job of getting it out. Its amazing how much this helps, isnt it? ------------------ Life is what you make of it... Not what you let it be |
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same. Thank you all for leaving footprints!! |
Great response from you all...I'm truly grateful. (Have I been away so long?....sorry...I'll try for more regular attendance ....especially as I seem to be in good company ...but I'll try not to wave the Uninon Jack) ------------------ I always wanted an edible canoe but you can't have your kayak and eat it too! |
Wow!.. Graham... You never disappoint me. Those feelings you had in this poem, (however, unfounded , im sure).. and so to the bottom of ones soul. The truth does hurt. and you my friend, always tell the truth. In this case, I hope that truth, never comes true. (smile) ------------------ Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |
