Let lovers woo, as wanton lovers will, And friends make haste to speak their faithful vow; I am content to fall into my rest Knowing therein I might find you somehow. ------------------ "We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.....the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?" --John Keating, Dead Poets Society |

Short, sweet and to the point...well done ------------------ Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same. Thank you all for leaving footprints!! |

Thanks to all...I usually avoid writing poetry in a voice (or using language) not my own but these lines just came into my mind one day and I could not shake them. For weeks I tried to fit them into a longer poem without luck. Then it struck me they really were strong enought to stand on their own. I am glad you liked them :-) [This message has been edited by Beki (edited 09-26-1999).] |

Thank you Graham....it is the result of long years of practice writing haiku :-) It taught me economy of words. But if you read some of my stuff in the adult forum you will find I can be long winded too if the subject warrants LOL |
