i had a bad day in school as usual, but today
was particularily terrible,so i wrote this
poem just now to make myself feel better.
didn't work....

ANTHEM FOR THE OUTSIDER

im not one of you,
and i’ll never ever be
i’ll always be behind the smiles
just hanging out with me
maybe you dont think im cool
but what do you know, you smoke pot
im perfectly fine all by myself
because im everything you’re not
sure,this life is lonely
i sometimes wish i was like you
but then i come to my senses
and it realize that could never, ever be true
someday after i leave here
i’ll go farther then you’ve dreamed
and i won’t be that girl who sat in the corner
ignored by every teen.

You go girl!! We are all outsiders at various times throughout our lives, it doesn't just stop when you leave school. You've done the right thing and if you continue to stand up and believe in yourself, it doesn't matter what they say or do. Believe in yourself my young friend..

I can't imagine how hard it must be
these days to go to school. From
what I see in your poem you sound
It is hard to do what's right when you
feel like you are standing alone.
Remember: That very thing is what
made many great! It's called INTEGRITY.

*Hope your days will soon be brighter.

Lelly...I agree with Isis and Julie..the line" i'll go farther than you've ever dreamed" shows you are strong and have goals you want to reach.....you go girl......Kudos for sticking to what you know is right.....

Honor and character are much more important than hangin' with the crowd and I just got this feelin' that you will go farther with your integrity than any of them with their "popularity".

Lelly...EXCELLENT. Don't let anyone step in the way of who you are or what you want to do. Keep your aspirations set high as in this poem and you will leave them all behind in your wake. You go girl and show them a thing or two!!

Lelly, behind your words lies a young woman with great strength! I loved the triumphant feelings you put in it--"someday after i leave here i’ll go farther then you’ve dreamed". WONDERFUL!

I like the strength of this piece as much as everyone else does ... Lelly there's something i have to say though.

Something i've realised in the short distance of time since i left school is that not one teen is happy and content with self. It's a part of growing up and those ppl smoking weed/pot whatever and those with all the makeup plastered all over their faces and all the others are all outsiders to themselves. They all feel lost and as if there's nowhere for them to belong.

So, while everyone feels what you do at this time in life, they dont' all handle it as well as you do and that's why it seems like the world of teens is against you .. it's really just other ppl who feel like you do dealing with it in their own way.

It's really all a matter of accepting who people are and not letting them drive you to a point of anger.

Write on sweet one and some day you will go farther .. and farther and then farther again

Very good Lelly! You are doing the right thing. I know it is hard sometimes when you feel you stand alone. You are a strong person for doing that, and I hope no matter what people say you will continue to do what's right. I also feel that way sometimes in my walk with God, so many believe different and you feel as if you stand alone.
But hey, it's what pleases God that counts and not what pleases humans. May God help you continue to stand in these tough situations.

I see strength and courage in your words. Loneliness is something we have to deal with all through our lives. Teen years are the worst years. Trying to find yourself. Keep your chin up and continue on your road. You show much strength of spirit.

Always remember.....nothing will be heeped upon your head that you can not bear.
