I learned a long time ago It is best to march to the Beat of my own drum Not to listen to the Rhythms around me For they might lead me Into another dance And my feet were Oh so tired of being Trod upon by The heavy steps of The singers that danced To the songs that were Sung before in time But in the distance now Came the sound which I thought I would never Hear…the echo of my Own drum, played by a Dancer who mirrored my Steps and whispered a song To my soul… I tried to change the Cadence and switch The choreography Yet he matched me Perfectly each time Until finally the drums Became one…and The dancers, interwoven Moved to the music… The song of the soul Played to infinity ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry...
