She had it within her power
to allow the mold to take -
but she dug her fingers in
- scaring me for life.

Instead of encouraging growth
with a careful selective pruning -
she hacked blindly away
- cutting me down to her size.

In her attempts to feed us
questions with easy answers -
she only succeeded in poisoning us
- closing our minds to truth.

By rewarding excellence
in appearance and attitude -
we learned the greatest lesson
- it matters only what others think.

Sure did blind the truth. Very well done! I guess to us it matters what others think, but it really shouldn't!

I think we all need to get past that idea presented to us so early in life and worry about what we think...nicely expressed idea and one that makes you stop and think

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!
