Merlin's Legacy Part 2

Now our Heroine Vivian is a daughter of the legend Merlin,
She too, is practised in the ancient healing ways,
She's known as the Daughter of Fire,
Her magic and healings fill her days.

'The flesh decays' she did explain,
'It must be removed this day.'
'Or Sir William will die in vain.'
'I know of no other way!'

Rorke trusted her and bid her to do what she must,
He would assist her if help was needed,
In her he knew he could trust,
Her advice was well heeded.

'For what must be done next, you must trust me,'
'I must be alone with him.'
Even Rorke here hesitated,
And thought he should stay with William.

'Please Milord,' she begged, 'He is dying!'
'Tis such a small thing that I ask.'
'I swear to thee I am not lying,'
'Alone I need be to perform this task!'

Rorke said 'Nay, only I shall stay with you,'
'Someone must stay for William's protection,'
'After all you are still a Saxon,'
'I will assist thee, in removing the infection.'

Vivian felt helplessness wash over her,
She could not persuade this Norman Warrior to leave,
What must be done, must be done quickly,
Or William would not survive the eve..
