Bittersweet The one thing I regret in this life Is not being there for you when you needed me the most I am the one who was supposed to love you like no other I am the one that knows deep down what to do I am the one who loved you so I had no doubts nor a care in the world I loved you but I hurt you I betrayed your trust and broke your heart But, you still cared Still loving me so very much You forgave me Giving me everything you could All I had to do is take it all Take everthing you gave and cherish it so I let it go Fear, doubt, guilt, anger, and pain I chose over you From this day on I want to give to you what you have given to me The love, trust, and respect that you have always deserved No longer blinded by my selfishness No longer wallowing in self pity I hope to show what your love has meant to me I took you for granted is all I know That thing I never thought I would do to you I want so badly to show I still truly care I hope that I will succeed in as many ways as possible Though my actions showed otherwise I have always Loved You I look back in awe of you In awe of the love and patience you gave ever so freely to me All I had to do is be there in all ways, but sadly I know I was not Instead I got caught up and lost in my dreary inner world With everything you gave me I am finally leaving I hope that place forever, never to return You gave me all the tools and all the love you could give Yes, my Dear it was and will always be all I truly need -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- © 1999 All rights reserved; Bridgette C.
