I lost my new grand-daughter on the 19th of September. This is a poem I wrote that was read at her funeral. Maceys funeral was on September 21st, with family and loved ones there, it was so very hard to let go. But, we know Macey is in a better place and that God and loved ones gone before will take care of her: Saying Goodbye Sleep now little angel God is watching over you, Saying goodbye now is the hardest thing to do. We lost you for a reason no need to question why, As we sit here hurting trying to say goodbye. Needed to let you know we’re loving you everyday, This is really not farewell you’ll be with us in every way. Little Macey Hope, you brought life to a family Now you are in Heaven as it was meant to be. God will be here with us in our hearts you will remain Till someday He will call us to be with you once again. So, sleep now little angel on God we will rely, This is not farewell we’re just trying to say goodbye. Love from Daddy, Mommy and your family 9/21/99 ~written by: Your Grandmother Sylvia Allison 9/20/99 ------------------ ~Sylvia |

Sylvia, sending great big hugs, as a grandmother of 2 both close to 2 years old, I don't know if I could say goodbye so eloquently, they are so precious, and I am sorry for your loss, but happy that you will see her in another better place |

Saying goodbye is never an easy thing, But they never said they'd stay forever, So if they must go, we must set them free... So sorry Sylvia, losing a child is the hardest death to bear or understand. I send more (HUGS) to you tonight.. ------------------ A hero is a man who does what he can. ~Isis~ (The Fragile Rose) |

Beautiful expressions of loss....I work on an OB unit and look for material like this to share with families who have suffered losses such as yourself. It often helps in recovery to share others grief, to know that you are not the only one who has suffered these things. Would you mind my printing this one off and sharing it? ------------------ "In the depths of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer" ~Albert Camus |
