But I am just the me I am.

You think that I am willing,
know my friendship is fulfilling,
but I am just doing the best I can.

You said that its OK,
that I should have my say,
but you are just humoring me now.

You say that I am caring,
my love I’m always sharing,
you’d be surprised if I said I don’t know how.

You do not see my soul,
you just think you know,
but I am not the person that you see.

I am lost and always running,
my thoughts are always cunning,
so you do not really know the all of me.

Ah, and well I know the pain and apprehension involved, in letting someone seeing the true depths of your soul! But I must say, that once that line is crossed, it provides a singular feeling of fulfillment never found elsewhere.

Lucie, this is exquisite! I swear you and I are sisters or something...I've had these very thoughts run through my mind...the last 2 stanzas are me exactly...this makes me sad, actually. But I find comfort knowing you understand my very thoughts....love ya girl.
