In the space between moments

The sky dazzles a deep, sapphire blue,
And the clouds fly upon a gentle breath.
These heavens light in remembrance of you,
As the shadows darkly mourn your death.

Your candle flickered and faded to black,
As you gave up on the one who truly counts.
No falling crystal tear can bring you back,
Your soul is dry, now void of life's fount.

I offered my hand as you slowly sank under,
But perhaps you had no real chance at all.
When the word came, my pain was like thunder,
Ripping through the air with an eerie call.

The sky is still blue and the clouds still fly,
Even though your spirit is eternally gone.
Along with you, a piece of my soul has died,
But I will remember you as you fly with the dawn.

WOnderful image.......perhaps a little too cheerful for this sad and poignant poem.

Who is 'you' in this poem? This poem rang with some grave bells, and also with the sighing of the dawn. And, long time no see, Alwye!

Thank you both...there is no real 'you' in this poem..just used the feelings I felt when a friend of mine was contemplating suicide..and yeah, long time, no see! School for me! Oh, that was pathetic...oh well. Time for homework...

Alwye, there are so many poems written on this subject - it's a very difficult emotion to handle - and you do it in a very lovely way - as Alwye's.....
