the hard-hatted sawers and choppers demolished an ancient oak today it was diseased and had to be put out of its misery but it was a sad sight so I shut my open door and sighed and thought of all the cruelties of life but from out of my open window I viewed the gathering of many manly men who had appeared and from no good reason they as stud deers snorting in their ritual of show off old bucks posing strong stanced and I could smell the smell of the rutting as they craved to display their power over a tree they herded there waiting and hoping to be a part of the destruction IT WAS SAP-BLOOD-LUST IN THE STREET THIS DAY as they loin joined and all salivating rushed to the ropes gleefully seizing the chance to help in the pulling down of life all of them merging in the missing of their long lost antler time ------------------ |

Nicely done, I was worried they were going to be shot! Glad they weren't!: ------------------ Words that enlighten the soul are more precious than jewels. ~Isis~ |

Actually, the "old bucks" were the "manly men" who, trying to display their long lost virility, couldn't wait to help tearing down a tree.Their "antler time" refers to the long ago time of their sexual peak.A loss which,to them, is primary-just like an animal, specifically in this case,a deer. Kind of a statement for the vapidity of current social values-particulaly,male ones. Thanks for responding to this Isis.It is a rather difficult one to immediately assess. PAL ------------------ |

I'm afraid, Paul, you missed Long John's point.... but I didn't, you Long John scum!!! I've still got enough virility to shove it, oh, hi there, sweet Nan, so nice to see you! (later, Long John) btw, excellent poem, Paul. |

Oh really? Hmmm... If "he" means me, I have to laugh (As truth would speak on my behalf) I spoke of FALSE virility, a softer way,one not for me. (PAL?) ------------------ |
