You are slipping away.
A little leaves each day.
The harder I try to connect;
The more you seem to forget.

You just sit and stare.
We have very little to share.
I wonder how long it will be
Before you can’t recognize me.

I have my precious memories.
But what you recall is a mystery.
We have a wonderful history.
But we can only share your misery.

You are made to bear,
So I will stay and share.
I mourn your present state,
Because Alzheimer’s is your fate.

This speaks to my heart...my grandmother was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It is devastating to see her lose all of our happy memories. Thank you for posting this....
