TIME Time, oh time, canny, unkind. Canst thou hear me? Canst thou unwind? For, time, it seems priceless indeed, When time is lost to fulfill need - Laying burden the human heart, As loved ones reach time of depart. And yet there's always time to dwell - On time ne'er found to fare thee well. Time, why does thou control me? Sole defiance of Destiny! Tell me to wake, tell me to sleep. When I must sew, when I must reap. When I should sing, when I should sigh, When I should simply say goodbye. When I can work, when I can play, Or speak to loved ones passed away. Time, does thou still yet pretend - In Death's shadow to be a friend? Oh, wouldst thou hold thy hand for me? Or pass me over, intently. Thoust would surely steal away the night. Plunder my soul with endless plight. But in echo of Pain's decree, Time shall not have the best of me. No Earthy values being set, Living for today, my goals are met And should Time, today, take this man, Know I've lived, I've loved, best I can. For Time's lessons I've have learned hard. Yes Time, indeed, has left me scarred. Now I see Time was always there, If only I would have said...I care. For Charles T. Anderson {1942 - 1993} I miss you, Dad. |

This brings tears to my eyes...probably because I know how much you do love & miss your dad...I'm so honored that I found this and was able to read it and share in your emotion, babe. Like we said last night...I know he's looking down, and is very proud of you....he's happy for you. I love you - - ------------------ I beckon you to come...I lure you with my tongue... - poet FemmeFatale |
