Hi there Ron. I noticed something with the netpoets.com search feature. If the line being searched differs in format from the original source, nothing will be found. An example of this was Addicted to You, which is mentioned in the ...Yahho! thread in the Alley. Goldene's version was in all caps, and the original not in all caps, so no hits were produced. I did a search on one of the internal lines. I was wondering if the search function will allow for any type of formatting to find the best results.

The search at the main site is an earlier version of our own Smart Search, and follows pretty much the same rules set. Specifically (from the QuickView in Smart Search) :

quote:
Only words or phrases containing an upper case character will be treated as case sensitive. A search on "usa" will match "Usa", "USA", and "usA", while the term "USA" matches only its uppercase version. When in doubt, it is always better to use lowercase search terms.

Thanks for the quick reply. I kinda figured, but was using copy n paste while searching for possible borrowed poetry. I guess next time I come into contact with all caps writing, I'll just have to take the time to edit the string variable so that not everything is in caps.
