Ron~ Please fix the truncated thing in PREVIEW ... It's driving me bonkers ! It appears to me that when I use the proper TWO spaces between sentences - that's where the PREVIEW breaks off. I can't properly PREVIEW anything typed in the appropriate format, without it slicing it off after the first sentence. Thanks. ~*Marge*~ |

Ya! Pretty please! I’m with you Marge! The preview is very important to me. I noticed it can’t be enlarged either. Is there anyway that the preview can show exactly how the poem or replies will turn out? If you got something that is long it doesn’t show the whole thing! Sorry for trying to load on more work for you RON It’s just that your site is so wonderful! |

Personally, I think it's a conspiracy. I don't know if they still do it, but when I was in school they taught us to separate sentences with two spaces - yet if you look in any magazine, newspaper, book, etc, you'll see only one space. Publishers, whether on-line or print, discourage the practice in submissions. So, any way, I think this is all a conspiracy by Athena. I think she's trying to break us of this very old habit. Okay, more seriously - I looked at this the other night (when I added the Author to the reply screen), but couldn't immediately find the problem. That routine hasn't changed a bit since we moved to Athena, but obviously the effects of it have. That's going to take some investigation. |

Well, sir - at least we know you're on it. I PREVIEW everything - even my replies ... and this malady only started last evening. So unless Athena sneaked out and took a graduate course - I don't think we can blame her. As far as I am aware - 'real life' typing instructors and publishers still advocate two spaces between sentences. **I went online and found this - of course I don't know how current the information is - quote: Then I reached for a new book someone had given me just last week - guess what ???? ONE space between sentences all the way through it. And I was wondering why I found the text so difficult to read ! Thanks for letting us know that you are on it ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (edited 02-24-2001).] |
