And suprised that I'm the first to notice this, but, *casualy points to the "tree" link in the upper right hand corner of the topics* it seems that, after I reply to a topic, the link at the top takes me to the main forums rather than back to tech talk (which is where I've been replying tonight) err.. not sure if I'm explaining that very well... I'll come back in a bit to see if I'm being understood. "Sa souvraya niende missian ye." \ I am lost in my own mind. |

What forum were you in and how did you get to it? |

I was in web site design, but I have sense noticed that it happens in the other forums in tech talk that I frequent. An' I got to it fallowing the link off the front page to the tech talk forums, and then into the web design forum. I made a reply, and sense there were not any other topics of interest to me in the forum, I went to click the link in the upper right that goes back to the main tech page, but it said "forums" and took me to the main poetry forums. Anyone else noticing this? I just went through all of the threads in Web Site Design (and most of those in other Tech forums) and all of them have a link back to Tech Talk, not the main forums. DF, if it happens again, can you post the thread URL here, please? Those are static HTML pages, rebuilt for each reply, so I'll see exactly what you saw if I can get to before someone else posts. |

If I don't miss my guess, this is along the lines of a post I did a little while ago. What I think we're seeing, is that when you're viewing the topic list for a forum, it shows a link for "forums," instead of the particular area (ie "Discussion") you're in. If you actually visit one of those threads, ie: this one, then you have the option to click on the link back to the main area of that section, ie: Discussion. C |

Chris, if you use the "normal" navigation system, that shouldn't happen either. What you're describing is probably the result of two things coming together: the way you entered this forum (which is why I asked that question in my first response), and the fact that this is a rather special forum. Three of our forums, those in the "Ron's World" category don't belong to any specific MetaCategory, but rather appear in EVERY MetaCat. Even then, if you enter one of these floating forums from standard navigation, Athena should be able to keep track of what MetaCat you were in. And it certainly shouldn't be happening in Tech Talk forums. |

I noticed the same. I think it happends after you changed number of threads to see. I just tested this, and it happened in the discussion forum also. It was "discussion" and changed to "forum" Geir -- "Luck affects everything. Let your hook always be cast; in the stream where you least expect it there will be a fish." That's the kind of specifics I needed. Fixed (and another one bites the dust, oomph ) |
