Listening to every heart

I added a reply.  I submitted.  The poem did not go back to the top, so that people would know I replied.  Why not?

Ok, when I responded to someone else's work, it popped back to the top.  I ran a test response again on my poem, and it stayed where it was.

Hummmm.

i noticed that if i use the back button to go back to the forum's main page right away (even before the page has brought you back to the poem you just replied to), i noticed that the main forums page doesn't refresh on its own.....when i press refresh, i finally see the poem i replied to on top.....

Actually, according to Ron's summary of updates, he's set it up so that your own poems don't go to the top when you reply to them.

acire, your Back button always pulls the page from your local cache, not from Athena. Avoid it!

LOL!! i was just wondering the same thing... you mean, if you reply to thank people, it doesn't push your poem back up to the top any more? that's the only way i ever get read, to be honest... ROFL... it's all in the timing... by day 2, my poem is on page 5 with  maybe 5 responses, sometimes less, so, i thank people and it pushes it back up and others see it and read it and maybe i'm being selfish, but i want to be read and without my thanking them to move it up to the top, my poems would sink like an anvil in the ocean.... geesh... and here's THIS, too... my thank yous are important to me... i want those people who read me to KNOW i appreciated them reading and if thank them and my poem is still on page 5, they may never see my thank you.... *sigh*.... thanks for listening....

The idea is so you no longer need to wait to thank people. Show them your appreciation BEFORE it gets to page five. (Has anyone figures out, yet, that there is no longer a hard definition of what Page 5 means? Your Page 5 might be right in the middle of my Page 1. :tongue

I've just seen too darn people who feel guilty for replying to their own posts, or worse, too many people accused of thanking one person at a time so they can manipulate their position. No manipulation means no guilty feelings and no accusations.

no, i have no idea what you mean about the how my page 5 could be your page one, etc or was that the other way around... i don't get it...

of course you KNOW i know what you mean about thanking people one at a time thing... LOL... but hey, i've said some things i've been sorry for before, too, y'know?

so? i really don't get what you mean..  but i spend MANY hours here every day and i'm just not one that gets that many responses because somebody told me i was too long to read and they'd have to wait for the movie... rofl...

but anyway, it doesn't take long for mine to end up on page 3-5... in a matter of hours, they slip to page 2... and that's ok, but i would like to be read by those who want to read me and have my thank you's visible to them because that's what the unity of the community is all about... and if i'm missing something in the software which makes page 1 insignificant for being seen, then what did i miss? HELP???

thanks, ron... *wink*

Okay, I don't usually give clues, but just for you, Dori…

Go back to the forum display for, say, Bug Swatter. You know that little drop down where you tell the system you want to see topics from the last day or last five days? Well, there are two dropdowns there, now…

Your reply just bumped this thread to the top.

Can you give an URL as an example, Snow?
