The forums seem to be loading really slow. And some of the threads, when I'm in replying, are still loading, never quite seem to get loaded. ?? Is it me and my server? |

Possibly....mine is whizzing through....even my computer at home seems "faster" than before....at least, when the Internet is not swamped..... |

Thank you Dovie...I came here to ask the same question... its been happening all weekend... I click on poem to reply and some load immediatly as normal, and others wont... I get a "website not responding notice" ... some threads eventually go thru after several tries but I cant see the replies to them. I asked a couple others and they are having the same trouble and they are not on the same server as me. I guess its another one of those nasty bugs that our Great Wizard will swat. (poor Ron, has he slept yet since the switchover to Athena) |

LOL JM, I hope he's slept, and I'm sure he's swamped! Not sure what the cause of this could be.  Glad to know I'm not the only one though.I haven't had any 'messages' though. It just seems to not load all the way, until I've made my reply and clicked submit, and then boom, it will finish and take me back out...but it was slow just coming into the main forums this morning. |

Hi.... sorry to be back bugging ya  but has it been discovered that this problem is software related yet? I still can not reply to many poems... for example... I can not get Balladeers repost in open to load... one thread will load in seconds as normal... but then the next random one I click on wont ever load.. or a blank white screen comes up ... or I get a "website not responding" notice. Mark B said he was having the same problems as well, yesterday. not trying to rush anyone... was just curious if this had been detected? thanks...always jm |

Software problems are rarely sporadic and almost never random. What y'all are describing is almost certainly a connection problem. A good way to verify that is to visit our new Troubleshooting Guide in the Member's Area. The form there does a diagnostic check of your computer and connection, including what's called a trace route between Athena and your modem. If you're having connection problems, it could potentially take two or three minutes to run the trace, so please be patient. Once you're in, the IP trace is the last prompt on the screen. Look through the various line items, each of which represent an IP "hop" along your path to our web server. If you see asterisks on one or more lines, instead of a number, that's where the problem is at. If you fill out your name and problem and Submit the form, Athena will mail both you and me a report. Maybe between the two of us we can determine if that is, indeed, the problem. |

I think it was just my connection yesterday. Today everything seems to be running smooth. All pages appeared as they should, just that blue bar on the bottom that shows when it's done loading, never quite got finished. Today everything is loading, and pretty quickly too. I need to do some maintenance on my puter, and empty out my temp folder as well. Good luck JM!! |
