I know it's been a long time since I've posted much around here, but I've noticed that when I do post, my icon doesn't show up. On my profile, I have the Icon17 set, but when I post, the default in the message is set to Icon01. How do I get it to default to the icon that I have set up on my profile??? thank you

Tracey, it's so nice to see you again! You might have to go into your Pips member files and 'rebake' your cookies. LOL. Good luck.
Ron or some other technocrat will no doubt give you more specifics.
PS happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Tracey!  I gave up on trying to get my icon glued to that slot actually.  I am getting rather used to the arrow now.

Hello Tracey - Go into the members' area - and into "change my profile" - You'll find one of the options there is to choose an icon...

Don't forget, Tracy, after clicking on the icon, to then click the "accept modifications" button.  Otherwise any alterations you make to your profile won't hold.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies.

I had gone into my profile, and Icon17 was showing on it. But when I posted, it wasn't showing up. I even tried changing it and saving it, but it still wasn't showing up.

Now however, as I'm replying to this post, I can see that Icon17 is showing up. Let's see if it sticks when I submit!!!

Well, I have to sign my user name, and find my icon every darn time how's about some divine intervention my way?  LOL, can't get my crazy glue to work, no way, no how.  I re-cooked the cookies too, and absolutely no way will it stick.  Wonder if it's because I use Firefox now?

Sharon, I had similar trouble when I first swiched to Firefox and made it my default browser instead of IE. I can't recall what it was I did to 'fix' the problem, but remember being very frustrated when the icons and defaults weren't working. If I recall correctly, I had to go in and delete everything in my profile, then come back in from 'an outside' source three times while in Firefox mode, not IE, before the fix took hold. I have no explanation other than that. Maybe the guru wizard can 'splain?

Thanks Kacy, either Ali or Ron will explain "soon" I guess.   I tried that too.

When cookies refuse to cook, it's the oven's fault. Er, I mean the browser's fault.

The "Delete All Cookies" option at pipTalk relies on your favorite browser following our orders, and too often, it doesn't. It happened to me just yesterday, at a different site, where my cookie simply refused to change no matter how many times I reset the site option.

The solution? You have to manually clear your cookies directly in your browser.

IE 6 From the menu, Tools, then Internet Options. Click on the General tab if necessary, then "Delete Cookies."

FF 1.5 From the menu, Tools, then Options. Click on the Privacy tab if necessary, then "Clear Cookies Now."

Thank you Ron, didn't know you knew that much about "cooking." I will try that and see if it works.  By the way, get this - it is snowing here big time in March!  Yes it is, big huge sticking flakes, and the snow bunnies are doing their happy dance.!  I am not!  This only means one big walk up a snowy 90 degree hill to me.
