Just a question for my clarification -

I usually enter the forums through the e-mail link I'm sent when someone replies to a poem I've posted.
And this is the URL that shows in my browser -
/main/Ultimate.cgi

But, after reading your Trouble Shooting Hints
I see a difference in the URL you recommend for entering the forums -
/main/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro

Now, would that affect the ability of my cookies or not ?
I always load my e-mail first and that's the way I've always entered.
Should I be doing it differently ?

Some of the things that come after Ultimate.cgi "could" affect your cookies, but that's not one of those things. You're fine, Marge.

1. The one from my e-mail notification.

or

2. The one you have in the Trouble Shooting Hints area ?

Does it matter as long as I use either of those ?

You can safely use either one, Marge. They are essentially the same. I hope I never ask the system to send out an URL that shouldn't be used, but your concern is certainly warranted.

Some people, incidentally, have asked why we don't mail the URL to the specific thread when someone replies - and this is precisely the reason. Going directly to a thread or even to a forum does not update your time/date cookies. It won't "corrupt" your cookies, but the lights and folders are guaranteed to get real confused.
