Ron:

I know this isn't really a major thing, but I figured I might as well point it out.  When the main forums splash page[I'm assuming that that's what it's called] - piptalk.com is viewed in Internet explorer, there is a small amount of code visible right at the top.  Basically, it's a bracket with a semicolon.

Anyhow, just pointing this out.  Hope I'm not annoying you or anything

Other than that, this new place kicks some serious donkey.[I think that phrase should work as far as expressing myself without the usual form of the word donkey, lol].  Like your DHTML menus.  Those are pretty sweet. :>

I hate “not quite right,” so rarely find it annoying when someone points out a problem.

I’m wondering if it might have been a comm hiccup, though, because I don’t see it in IE 5.5. Anyone else out there notice it? What version of IE?

I have 5.5, as well.  I can see it.  It might just have something to do with my settings.  I've got my browser set to not try to debug code.  I hate it when it does, with all those dumb popups.

There's no error on my status bar though, like with that yellow exclamation mark with "errors on page" and whatnot written on it.

The bug does not show up on Netscape 4.7, which I just used to try and load it.

Could someone who sees it save the page to their hard disk (File/Save) and email it to me as an attachment? Please?

I just updated to IE 5.5 - the little code blip is gone, and I can see the nav window too. (yay!)

hm...  I'm still getting it.  I'm gonna try changing JavaScript settings on my browser, and see if that does anything.  I just installed Microsoft Office 2000.  That might have some effect on it, seeing as how I've had to get rid of fifty million annoying programs that come with it, for things like HTML editing and script debugging...

Hi fractal,

I don't know if this will help at all, but when I d/l the update there was a particular option under the custom download ( that I can't remeber the exact title of, wouldntcha know) that allows the viewing of the latest scripting and CSS.  Having that utility activated might get rid of the code.

:D

Just tried it on my other computer.  It runs IE 5.0.  It shows here as well.

I think it may very well have something to do with CSS.  I'm just learning DHTML right now though.  Once I've gotten a better handle on it, I'll hopefully be better at helping with the technicals of any errors that might come up in the future.
