A friend noted today that they saw I was logged in to the forums....but I have my preferences set so that I should not show. I tried changing prefs to make myself visible and then changing back after deleting all my cookies...but I'm still visible. To search a bit more, I changed my mail preference to the private setting, but my contact envelope icon still showed up. Seems there may be something in my profile that just wants me to be seen..... |

It must have fixed itself, Ed. I don't see you logged in at all.  More seriously, this has been a bug for a very long time. It has nothing to do with your Profile (assuming the flag is set at all), but rather with where you are in the forums. Every single entry point into the system has to decide whether you should or shouldn't be listed as being on-line. There appears to be at least one entry point that gets it wrong. We've just never been able to definitively track down which entry point that might be. |
