Ok, sometimes I know I'm going crazy...I have NOT disabled my smilies in any forum..so why is it that in the Announcement Forum, I can't get one to work? :D :X

There really is method to my madness, Sharon. I figured if people had to type a bit more, we wouldn't get those posts FILLED with two score smiles. Make it a little work, I figured, and we'd see more forbearance.

From what I've seen so far, it ain't working.

(Okay, the truth. The names of the smilies are literally the file names of the gif. If I find another good one, all I have to do is drop it in a directory and the software will find it. No program changes. No trying to figure out special codes for it. Instant new smilies.)

Yes, it's not hard to do when all when ya have to do is copy and paste them ALL in a post or reply.

Maybe I shouldn't have let out the secret?
But I do love these new smilies...specially this one

Actually, Ron, I'm glad you did drop the old format of smilies, like the :> and :< ones.

I often found myself posted messages where I put a list of things, like this:

bla
bla bla

and so on, and on the final post, I guess because of the HTML tags and stuff, it appeared more like this:

"put a list of things, like this

bla
bla bla"

That got rather annoying.
